Mountains Country Kennel only breeds to improve the Saint Bernard breed standard with specific goals,
due to this we may not have puppies available at all times.
We evaluate our puppies between the ages of 6-7 weeks or later,
to determine which may be a show potential puppy or pet quality.
We DO
NOT take deposits in advance, and DO NOT promise anyone any puppy until one
is available.
We gladly keep all interested inquiries on file until we have made our picks
from litters, then we contact our inquiries.
If you are looking
for a bargain, the cheapest St Bernard puppy you can find,
please
search somewhere else.

WHAT IS A PET QUALITY PUPPY ?
Pet quality means the breeder has decided to sell the puppy as a loving pet and companion.
It does not mean that anything is wrong with the puppy or that the puppy is not a great example of the breed.
It means the puppy may have a conformation fault that would hinder him/her in the show ring
such as a poor ear set or tail set or perhaps the puppy's gait/movement is not perfectly correct.
Something that would matter very little to a family, but might matter a lot to an conformation judge.
Puppies that are sold as pets are usually less expensive than show prospect pups.
Some puppies that are sold as pets at a younger age can be may turn out to be great show dogs later on.
WHAT IS A SHOW PROSPECT PUPPY ?
A show prospect puppy is a puppy that the breeder feels has the attributes to become a successful show dog.
These puppies are excellent examples of the breed with very few, if any, obvious faults.
There is no perfect dog, all dogs have faults but serious breeders will always strive to produce pups that are as close to perfection as possible.
These puppies are usually more expensive and every effort is made to place these puppies in show homes if they can not be kept by the breeder.
No one knows if a young puppy will turn out to be of show quality but an experienced breeder will be able to recognize show potential in even a young pup.
Pups with show potential are usually kept longer so that the breeder can monitor
their development before advertising them as show prospects or place them as pets if they do not turn out as expected.

We sometimes have young adults available that are ready to start showing
and this is often times a good way for people to start right off with a show dog.

A responsible breeder carefully weighs each mating with an eye on what is best for the breed in terms of appearance,
temperament, and health considerations.

A responsible breeder never breeds just to sell puppies for money, instead a responsible breeder looks upon each puppy as an investment in the future of the breed.

All potential puppy buyers are thoroughly screened to determine suitability, responsibility and capability.
A responsible breeder is always there to answer questions,
give advise and offer guidance to new puppy owners and will remain a ready source of assistance throughout the animal's lifetime.
Responsible breeders never mate two dogs without being prepared to care for the resulting puppies.Responsible breeders have long range plans, definitive thoughts about their breed and are never afraid to speak up and voice an opinion.

Here some general
information:
Our puppies are born and raised in our home and be given all love and
care that they need.
They come from excellent bloodlines, are very well socialized
and have gentle parents.
All our Saints love the World and they expect that the World will love them!!!
The puppies will be trained when they are 4-5 weeks for housebreaking before they go to their new homes.
Puppies will be optimal socialized with other animals, kids, sounds etc.
All of our puppies are CKC registered.
Puppies as pet will come with a CKC non-breeding agreement and a
spay/neuter contract.
For show and/or breeding purposes they will come with a full CKC
registration. (limited availability)
All puppies will also come with a written health guarantee, microchip,
first vaccination,
de-wormed, health-check, 6 weeks Pet plan health insurance,
and a Royal Canin puppy package.
Puppies are ready to go when they are 8-10 weeks old, although when we
have to ship them they will need to be 9-10 weeks old.
Shipping plus
crate (and international health certificate for outside Canada is on
buyers expense.
A note for those who are interested in a show quality puppy. (these
puppies are only sold to serious inquiries)
But always keep in mind
that grading puppies has no resemblance to a scientific procedure.
The
entire process of puppy evaluation is only an educated guess at best.
If you decide that we have to hold that puppy for you, we require a $ 300.00 deposit.
The remainder of the price must be paid prior to the puppy leaving our home.
The final payment will need to be in cash or bank withdrawal.
